01How a book is used
Step one

Sing it

Read the shloka together in Devanagari or in the English spelling. Two lines, said aloud, three or four times.

Step two

Color it

The facing page is the same verse as a big friendly picture. Coloring is the repetition, and it takes as long as it takes.

Step three

Say it back

The meaning is written in a child's words, short enough to repeat at bedtime or on the way to school.

Every verse, four ways

The same shloka is given in the original script, in a spelling you can read aloud, word by word, and in a sentence a five year old can say back. Nothing is left for you to look up.

The verse in Devanagari

As it has always been written, in large clear type a child can trace with a finger.

Transliteration to read aloud

Standard IAST spelling, so parents and grandparents can say it correctly even without reading Devanagari.

Every word explained

Each Sanskrit word with its meaning, so the shloka is understood and not only memorized.

A meaning to say back

A short retelling in the child's own words, ready for bedtime or the school run.

05Questions parents ask
What age are these for?

Five and up on their own. Younger children enjoy them with a grown-up reading the verse aloud while they color.

Do I need to know Sanskrit?

No. Every shloka is printed in an English spelling you can read straight off the page, with each word's meaning beside it, so you can say it correctly the first time.

What is in each book?

Twenty shlokas about one deity, each with its own page to color, across 44 full color pages in paperback.

Which books can I buy today?

Bal Ganesh is published. Bal Hanuman, Bal Ram and Bal Krishna are finished and going through publishing now. Following @sanatan123official on Instagram, Facebook or YouTube is the fastest way to hear when each one goes live.

Where do I buy them, and how long does delivery take?

Through Amazon, which prints and ships them in the US, UK, Europe, India and elsewhere. Delivery times are whatever Amazon quotes in your country.

Are the shlokas accurate?

Yes. Every verse and every word meaning is checked before print. Where a verse has more than one common reading, the most widely recited one is used.

Can I use one book for two children?

The verses, yes. The coloring pages get used once, so most families buy a copy per child or print the page again from a second book.

Start with Bal Ganesh.
